A passion for journalism and story telling, with a track record of breaking and crafting compelling news pieces. From natural disasters, to high-profile arrests, sports scandals, royal visits and everything in between, working as a reporter has enabled travel across the country and overseas, chasing original content, which in turn has delivered meaningful change within different sectors of community. A proven ability to present, thrive in dead-line driven environments, easily adapt to change and foster professional relationships. Determined and flexible with a willingness to work long hours to obtain breaking news. Offering strong journalistic integrity in all situations.
My role as a reporter for Seven has taken me across regional New South Wales, interstate and overseas including travel to New Zealand and Sumatra covering breaking news stories for the networks bulletins. Following a short stint in general news, I was moved onto the crime round, which has allowed me to strengthen relationships with contacts, generate exclusive content, and also address sensitive topics professionally while adhering to ethical standards. No day is the same, working to difficult deadlines and consistently producing factual, accurate and compelling stories in collaboration with producers and editors, under tight time constraints. There are multiple examples where my work has lead to positive outcomes within the community and change in government policies and law, including coverage of the Hunter Valley Bus Crash, which through multiple stories with victims and their families has lead to a Federal Taskforce examining bus safety management. I have demonstrated willingness to pursue stories in the interest of the public and the interest of victims who are campaigning for change to ensure the foundations of journalism and free speech are upheld. Appointed as the crime reporter for Nine News in Queensland - I was based in Brisbane and often worked across the state, chasing stories and breaking news content for our 6pm bulletin, and subsequent programs within the networking including the Today Show. My long-standing stint with nine enabled me to cover some of the biggest events in news, over the last decade including the implications of Covid-19 which proved unprecedented. From lockdown's, to border closures and protests - delivering factual, concise, up to date information and holding politicians to account had never been so important. I played an integral role in Nine's coverage of the Queensland floods, participating in rolling coverage for up to 12 hours, five days straight as Brisbane witnessed major flooding for the second time in a decade. My work with nine also lead me to form close relationships with victims of crime and their families, with my extended feature on the murder of Toyah Cordingley, putting pressure on Queensland Police to announce a reward which ultimately lead to a conviction. Prior to being employed in Brisbane, I was based in Nine's Gold Coast office and also worked as a regional reporter.
Recently undertaken work with Dippers Swim, which is a modified nippers and surf education program. Aiming to gain awareness and secure funding to ensure the program stays active.
