Bar Coach
The Botanist
09.2020 - 12.2022
Since starting at The Botanist I progressed from a bartender to a Bar Coach which is a role that I worked extremely hard to achieve.
In achieving this role it pushed me to take initiative, develop my communication and leadership skills.
My role as a bar coach consisted of training new members of staff, undergoing a very trying 2 weeks of written and practical tests
I worked hard to ensure that every new member of staff that I trained was trained with a personalised approach to ensure that their needs are catered to in order to help them develop their own skills.
For example, some trainees prefered to learn cocktail specs by reading them, some prefer a more tactile approach wherein they 'bottle-touch' to remember cocktail specifications.
At the botanist I learnt how to positively deal with difficult/intoxicated customers, build rapport with customers and staff, develop my multitasking skills in high pressure, fast paced situations and environments, all whilst delivering unrivalled customer experience.

Throughout my time at Lucia I was able to develop my communication skills and attention to detail ensuring that every cocktail was made to a high standard.
Towards the end of my time at Lucia I was trusted with training new employees in their role which allowed me to refine my leadership skills, build on my ability to stay calm and patient in a high pressure environment.
