EWB Humanitarian Design Summits - Mentor

  • Supported the facilitation of Australian University students(up to 30 students) undertaking an immersive experience through their university Engineering degree (specifically a Humanitarian Engineering unit).
  • The Humanitarian Design Summits, were hosted by EWB in their country offices in Cambodia (Feb 2024) and Timor-Leste (June 2024) along with implementing partners in various communities takes students through rapid human-centered design processes.
  • Being a mentor on a 2-week long immersive involved a few weeks of prep ahead in-country, as well as facilitating team members in human-centered design methodologies, international development, the SDGs, appropriate technology, and participatory approaches to development. It also involved mentoring team members and supporting them in navigating ethical interaction with community members.
  • Additionally, my mentorship role entailed being the key safeguarding and health and safety representative, creating risk plans and reporting incidents when they occured. Overall, our team of 7 staff were responsible for team and student health, well-being, and safety.

  • Operating under requirements set in place by the above Tier 1 retailers as well as The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) Compliance Regulations, as well as ensuring all information is handled with care whilst adhering to the Privacy Act
  • Thorough attention to detail for various aspects of auditing such as retailer-specific compliance requirements as well as Government Energy Regulator compliance requirements and the ACCC; matching customer details from the call audits to the final form; ensuring our company maintains compliance throughout all of the processes - start to end; making sure accuracy and compliance is at its finest standard at all times with constant monitoring and reporting
  • Reporting the findings - creating weekly reports, relaying information along with the reports to the relevant teams (where the feedback is actioned and training is provided to the relevant parties), which is then relayed back to our Quality Assurance team where the compliance requirements are continuously monitored and reassessed until necessary results are achieved
