  • Company Overview: The hotel is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar refurbishment which requires overseeing and planning so it does not disturb the in-house guests' stay.
  • As the Senior Duty Manager, I am in charge of the property when on shift, overseeing all duty managers, GSAs, and department heads.
  • Duties include; planning and overseeing events in the hotel restaurant and conference centre, dealing with inquiries and issues, overseeing security and standards of customer service.
  • Preparing financial forecast reports on hotel revenue and identifying financial risks during the low season.
  • Assist in the training and induction of new staff, in conjunction with the Heads of Department.
  • Assist the Operations manager in complying with legal obligations in relation to Health & Safety. Ensure that risk assessments are carried out and reviewed regularly.

The control of pricing hostel rooms to maximize company profits and lowering rates in low season to attract bookings minimising competition, providing high-quality customer service; assisting in planning daily events.
  • This position came to an end when the business closed down during the Covid Pandemic and I was made redundancy.
