April Parry

As a final year Bachelor of Nursing student at Monash University, I am deeply committed to delivering compassionate and empathetic patient-centred care. I have gained experience in a range of clinical settings, including rehabilitation, acute medical, acute surgical and mental health inpatient wards. I particularly enjoyed my placement on the acute surgical ward, where I thrived in a fast-paced environment and developed strong time management, prioritisation and organisational skills.

I take pride in my empathetic nature, always striving to understand and support patients’ individual needs with compassion and respect. My proactive attitude and enthusiasm for learning has helped me adapt quickly to new environments and contribute effectively as part of a team. My organisational skills allow me to provide safe and thorough nursing interventions.

Throughout my placements, I have demonstrated excellent communication and initiative, effectively building rapport with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams. I am passionate about working collaboratively to ensure high quality, holistic care.

My current career goals include completing a supportive graduate nurse program where I can further develop my clinical knowledge and confidence while exploring different clinical areas. Ultimately I aspire to use these skills to travel and provide care in disadvantaged communities across Australia, helping to bridge gaps in access to healthcare and promote health equity.
