Project Participation in the Engineers Without Borders challenge

In a group of five, we embarked on a challenge to improve the method by which the residents of the Cambodian village of Pu Ngoal access their local river for water retrieval. Over the course of 12 weeks, our team coordinated efforts to develop a professional application for our engineered solution. We designed and delivered presentations to other groups, facilitating constructive feedback and critical questioning.

Our process culminated in the collaborative development of a comprehensive design proposal report. This report detailed all the ideas generated, the engineering processes involved, and the safety factors considered. Through teamwork and effective communication, we ensured that our solution was both practical and beneficial for the villagers, aiming to enhance their quality of life and ease their daily water retrieval challenges.

Such project provided me solid experience of what professional engineering practice looks like and gave me confidence to improve and succeed as an engineer.
