Project - Criminal Justice Information System:

Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with police departments to enhance secure connectivity to the CJIS infrastructure by introducing the project, assessing their existing infrastructure, and designing secure methods to connect through the State Public Safety Data Network (PSDN).
• Planning and coordinating project milestones such as cutover date, and developing an implementation plan that includes a fallback strategy in case of issues.
• Leading the implementation of the connectivity plan by assigning specific tasks to the State and Police Department.
• Overseeing the verification of connectivity and ensuring that no issues arise post-implementation.
• Designing and implementing CJIS' data center by migrating infrastructure from Cisco to Arista switches.
• Collaborating with the agency and other teams to conduct budget meetings, and formulate an implementation plan.
• Implementing Virtual Extensible LAN (VxLAN) as the designated Layer 2 protocol in the new design framework.

Outcomes:

• Connected 80 police departments to the CJIS infrastructure, achieving a 40% increase in just 15 months, compared to only 2% over the past decade.
• Successfully migrated services and applications to the new infrastructure with zero downtime, while configuring high availability in the backup data center.
• Comprehensive technical documentation of the completed work, including network diagrams created in Visio, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Project: Department of Administrative Services:

Responsibilities:

• Managing complex data center migration.
• Introducing Fabricpath to the network for improved L2 performance across multiple data centers.
• Planning and designing of high availability Data Center architecture with technologies such as Fabricpath and HSRP Anycast
• Collaborating with different teams to implement Cisco UCS technology.
• Designing and implementing inline network monitoring tools (Ngenius network taps and span ports) across multiple points in the network.
• Creating nodes, Pools, and Virtual servers and implementing load-balancing for applications.
• Resolving day-to-day tickets and tier 2 and 3 troubleshooting.
• Proficient in change management to meet outage policies.

Outcomes:

• Achieved migration of network infrastructure ensuring functional and operational continuity.
• Successfully integrated CISCO UCS into the environment and collaborated with the server teams to migrate services and applications from the VMware environment to the UCS environment.
• Executing the implementation of network monitoring ensured ease in traffic capture and troubleshooting.

• Designing and implementing secure infrastructure solutions, including firewall, IDS/IPS, SIEM, VPN, wireless, e-mail, AAA, load-balancer systems.
