I have worked at The MacRobertson Girls’ High School for three years, each year I have progressed in acres each year from head of sport, teaching VCE PE and now leading the Health and Physical Education Department.


Head of Health & Physical Education (HPE) Department

  • Leading a team of 8 teachers across the HPE department. Facilitating strong team relationships.


  • Coordination with the executive leadership team which inherently involved a strategic level of planning. This coordination would be crucial for creating curriculum goals and learning pathways for the team , ensuring they align with the broader educational vision and strategic objectives of the school.


  • Facilitating organising weekly HPE department meetings


  • Creating curriculum goals and learning pathways for the team to enable cohesive teaching outcomes. fostering a shared understanding and approach to teaching.


  • This included ensuring assessments and documents are updated for the guaranteed and viable curriculum, promoting consistency in evaluation and reporting across all Health and PE subjects.


  • Discussing and implementing inclusive teaching strategies for diverse learning abilities. Reviewing and refining approaches to student wellbeing and respectful relationships education, and maintaining a positive classroom culture through effective behaviour management. Management of team performance and roles and responsibilities.


  • Ensuring that all educators within the department are working towards shared objectives, thereby establishing a guaranteed and viable curriculum.


  • Organisation and bookings of external events for the department included sports centre spaces for the year 9 and 10 cohort, Gymnastics for all year 10 PE classes and organising swimming lessons for all year 9 classes.
