Duties:

• Provided basic nursing care to residents in aged care setting under the supervision of Registered Nurses and AIN.
• Worked with clients with conditions including dementia, type 1 and 2 diabetes, hearing and vision loss or impairment, cancer, mental health disorders, cognitive decline, renal failure and loss of mobility.
• Observed, measured and recorded resident’s vital statistics and reporting changes in their condition to RNs.
• Provided care services to residents in accordance with care plans.
• Assisted clients with all aspects of their personal hygiene from simple cleaning like bathing and grooming.
• Prepared and served nutritious meals, supporting the resident’s dietary needs.
• Promoted equality and diversity in care-giving, respecting unique needs.
• Changed bed linens, made the bed, and laundered soiled linens to keep the residents' bed clean and tidy to prevent bed sores.
• Safe manual handling.

• Prepared surgical suite according to surgery and surgeon preference, especially assisted in operative procedures.
• Performed pre-operative assessment and provided care to patients in the operating room setting.
• Assured the cleanliness and sterility of the surgical area before, during and after surgery.
• Followed all the hospital protocols, regulations and infection control procedures.
• Ensured all the equipment was functioning properly, stocked supplies, prepared operating rooms, laid out tools and passed instruments as a scrub nurse during the procedures.
• Prepared patients for surgical procedures.
• Administered medications and monitored vital signs.
• Provided post-operative support and education on proper discharge care.
