Projects

Effects of external parameters on the performance of M-cycle air coolers (indirect evaporative).

  • Developed physical and mathematical models of the M-cycle indirect air cooler, which serves as the instrument for solving the model.
  • Programming using MATLAB to solve the mathematical equations and testing out the extent of effects the various parameters have on the working efficiency of the M-cycle cooler.

Reduce sloshing in heavy vehicles

  • Hexagonally perforated baffled walls were designed to reduce the sloshing in heavy vehicles carrying liquids.
  • Finite element analysis was conducted on the baffled walls to find the most stress experienced.
  • Walls were strategically installed inside the tanker.

Suitable locations for Hydropower facility in Yorke Peninsula, South Australia.

· The three important concerns were location identification, technical analysis and economic feasibility for each of the projects.

  • The topography of Yorke Peninsula was first studied, and locations were identified by looking at characteristics, including the elevation from the forebay and afterbay, water availability (throughout the year), closeness to power grids and the environment constraints.
  • The technical analysis was primarily concerned with finding out the flow velocity.
  • Data available from the location and technical analysis was used to identify the revenue generated, cost required for maintenance and the net income.
