- Lighting: focusing lights, using gels, follow-spot operation, patching and resetting the lighting bars to venue standard, opportunity to busk my own lighting for a small show
- Sound: setting up mics for bands, choirs, drum kits and guitars, assisting in mic checks
- Coordinated and taught a team of volunteers in an amateur theatre show with up to 30 headset mics that involved pack swaps, mics failing, lead issues, and fitting problems
- This also entailed working with the makeup and costume department in order to achieve a smooth run of a show with many makeup changes and complex costumes whilst preserving the mics
- Fly system: have worked on an array of shows touring through this venue as a mechanist
- This included working simpler shows where I was responsible for guiding new staff through the fly system and active flying as well as more challenging mature theatre with warping, chunky and large heavy set where I had to work with my team in order to achieve the best outcome within our space
- This also includes the challenges of working with new performers that do not know the space
- Miscellaneous: Aided stage managers in professional theatre groups, several duty technician shifts, maintenance, test and tag (offices, leads and lights), coiling and caring for leads and cables
