As a fry chef at Hunky Dory, I was responsible for preparing and cooking all fried food items, ensuring each dish met high-quality standards. This role helped me develop strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, as I collaborated with kitchen staff to maintain efficiency and consistency.

Additionally, I worked as a waiter, greeting customers, addressing their concerns, and resolving any issues to ensure a positive dining experience.

At Kmart, I greeted customers as they entered the store and quickly responded to their needs, making sure they felt welcomed and assisted. I helped determine what they were looking for and provided guidance as needed. I also worked a flexible schedule, stepping in for extra shifts when the business required it. Additionally, I operated the cash register, processing cash, check, and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.

At Pro Element Electrical, I learned the fundamentals of the electrical trade, including how to fit off electrical systems, work with different types of cables, and understand their specific uses. I also gained experience in dealing directly with customers, learning how to communicate effectively and address their needs. Working in a team environment was a key part of my role, and I learned how to collaborate with others to get the job done efficiently and to a high standard.

I started my apprenticeship at Giolec Electrical, where I got hands-on experience in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work. I had the chance to be involved in a variety of projects, which helped me build a strong foundation in the trade.

A big part of my role was in the maintenance and service sector, where I worked on electrical systems in homes of all ages. This experience taught me not only how to troubleshoot and maintain different types of systems but also how to communicate with customers. I learned how to speak with homeowners, understand their needs, and provide clear solutions in a professional, friendly manner.

Beyond electrical skills, I also picked up valuable lessons in time management, problem-solving, and teamwork, all of which have helped me become a more well-rounded professional.

At Professional Electrical Solutions, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide range of residential projects, from small single-story homes to large, multi-story mansions. My main responsibilities have been focused on roughing in, cutting out, and fitting off electrical systems for new builds.

I’ve learned how to accurately read and interpret electrical plans, ensuring that everything is marked out, roughed in and fit off precisely according to the electrical plans. This attention to detail has helped make sure that things run smoothly on-site and that the projects stay on track.

I’ve gained solid experience fitting off both single-phase and three-phase switchboards, ensuring everything is wired correctly, balanced, and fully functional. I’ve worked on a variety of projects, troubleshooting any issues and making sure each switchboard meets safety standards and client needs. My hands-on experience has helped me confidently handle the entire process, from wiring to final testing, ensuring smooth and reliable operation every time.

Throughout my time here, I’ve gained hands-on experience in every part of the process, from the initial stages of planning and layout to the final fit-off. I’ve also become skilled at spotting potential issues early on and working with my team to resolve them before they become problems. It’s been rewarding to be part of so many successful projects, knowing that my work directly contributes to bringing these homes to life.
