Project 033 – Dental PEARLS: Dental Penicillin Allergy Referral study 

Aims to provide referral pathways for Penicillin allergy and determine the proportion of penicillin allergic patients with a low-risk penicillin allergy.

Participate as a dentist to screen patients and refer patients directly for penicillin allergy testing to Austin Health.

Project 030 – Effectiveness of pre-treatment music as an intervention to manage anxiety in the dental setting

Aim: to explore the effectiveness of pre-treatment music in the management of dental anxiety in general practice.

completed a full day of face-face training for mental health first aid course prior to commencement of the study

Currently have recuited eligible anxious patients with Modified Dental Anxiety Score of 11 or more, they have been randomly assigned to three different groups (1: music pre-treatment and during treatment, 2: music during treatment only 3: No music) to evaluate the effects of the music in reducing patient heart beat during various stages of a restorative appointment.
