At the start of 2022 i was in charge of a renovation and extension on a double brick, single fronted house in Brunswick.
I had to undertake the role of leading carpenter, supervisor and construction manager for the job. Although it seemed like a lot to handle I was up for the challenge as the company was short staffed at the time.
I was in charge from the ground up and did everything from site set out, marking out trenches, excavation, form work and pouring the slab.
We removed the back wall of the house and extended out by 10m . Creating the new roof line to meet the existing pitch was a challenge. I hand pitched the roof and couldn't be happier how it turned out.
Continued on with the project by installing steel doors, laying floorboards, bathroom renovation, kitchen and laundry install, installing several skylights.
jobs was made hard by propping exterior walls when demolishing sections of brick. Also had to deal with bluestone foundations
job was completed on time and remain good friends with the client to this day.
i have grown up with a ball at my feet and have played soccer at competitive level up until i was 36. I'm one of those die hards that wake up in the early morning to watch them play. My son has now started following them more and more as he gets older and we watch the games together. I coached my son this year for the local soccer club Moreland City FC U12s and we had a successful season.
Over the past year we have invested in a caravan and we have been on some adventures so far going to places like, Stradbroke island, Bathurst , halls gap and gold coast. This has created some quality time with the family and some great memories. there's nothing better than sitting by a campfire at night with friends and family enjoying a glass of wine or 2 and exploring new places during the day.
The caravan has created another hobbie and that has been modifying my Toyota Hilux to enjoy some 4x4 driving.
