Bel Harper

Summary

My name is Bel Harper, and I am a Sydney based media executive, with a 25 year career working with advertising agency customers, direct customers, brands and commercial partners, including 12 years working on and monetising Qantas audiences across Clubs, Business Lounges, Inflight Entertainment and Wi-Fi, and more recently within the 6 key Chairmans Lounges across Australia. My current role is Executive Group Director of Product Strategy at oOh!media (ASX:OML), Australia’s largest out of home media operator, where I am a member of the Executive Leadership Team. My experience spans sales, product and commercial areas across the media industry in Australia and North America, and throughout my career I have developed a diverse set of skills and passion for customer strategy and problem solving. I am highly experienced at deciphering audience insights through leading data sets such as Quantium and CBA IQ, and using those insights to understand and enhance customer experience and monetise audiences in highly varied environments and at different consumer journey points. During my time in media, I have established myself as a respected industry leader, recognised for my product strategy work particularly around the aviation and airport media sector, by creating award winning value propositions and commercialising customer experience by connecting data, content and technology. I created and led the Qantas Lounges and IFE value proposition, creating the ‘end to end’ audience journey, by identifying how Qantas’ customers interacted at different points of their journey, and developing products to integrate utility such as flight information displays with walk to gate times, shortform Travel Insider and news content and headlines, Wi-Fi enablement notifications and destination weather. Ultimately, this customer centric approach met the needs of Qantas staff in lounges, Qantas from a commercial perspective (including Loyalty, who pay for and use the platform to drive offers to existing customers) , the Qantas passenger through enhanced experience and subsequently, the paying advertiser. In addition, I have been a key contributor to competitive tender wins and contract renewals, designing customer and revenue strategies for commercial parties such as Melbourne and Brisbane Airports and most recently Sydney CBD Metro, Woollahra Council Street Furniture and Macquarie’s Martin Place Metro precinct. As a strong strategic, creative and commercial leader, I have a demonstrated track record of collaboratively working and executing business, customer and product initiatives, along with motivating, mentoring and developing individuals and building high-performance teams. I believe these skills and experience, coupled with my strong passion and understanding for the Qantas brand and the customer centric lens I am used to working within, would positively impact the Qantas group.
