Over the years I have mastered a wide range of skills to manage 'The Medicine Of Lifestyle' which offers Private Consultations, Face to Face and Online Education /Training and Retreats both interstate and at 4 locations within Queensland.
I thrive when challenged and can manage multiple priorities with a happy and calm disposition. Years of experience within the Health and Wellbeing Industry has offered the opportunity to master the skills and methods required to work with teams, professionals, organisations and community groups while remaining self motivated & self directed.
I am detail-oriented, a team player with strong organizational skills and a fundamental love of working with people and for people. I am not only willing, but would also enjoy the opportunity to take on challenges and the responsibilities required to meet the goals and targets set by LivingWorks and their work Australia wide.
I am confident with my ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and most importantly, I enjoy travel. After many years experience travelling both interstate and within Queensland for work, I have built a fitness and rhythm around that way of living to ensure my own sustainability and wellbeing.
I am passionate about my role as a Trainers and Member of LivingWorks and our unified goal to educate and support as many as possible about suicide prevention.
It is timely for me to make changes in my working life and expand on skills and abilities. I am keen to undertake any further training essential to this position and look forward to a full-time role that offers professional challenges and an opportunity to utilize interpersonal skills, fitness built around travel, and problem-solving skills.
I currently have a home both in NSW and Queensland and will make the changes needed if I am accepted for the role. I don't have children or a partner which leaves me lots of flexibility.
Most of my work with LivingWorks and their safeTALK program was in Mackay, Queensland. I worked closely with two charity organisations - 'The Grapevine Group' and 'Run for MI life'. We raised money to offer safeTALK to the wider community free of charge.
When I joined the team there was one other trainer... within 6 months the safeTALK trainers team grew to 12 and we were presenting more than once a week to people in the mines, corporate workplaces, schools, football teams and community groups.
My role was to oversee and care for the trainers, communicate with the charities and liaise with the contact person to organise details for the presentation. During these years I learnt how to present in a way that met the audience, their demographic, age, personal experiences around the issue of suicide and conversations suitable for the situation we were presenting in. Establishing and sustaining quality relationships within the community, fellow supervisors, managers, stakeholders and those within the business sectors was an enormous part of my role.
The welfare of our team of trainers was always a priority, hence I would regularly initiate contact with each trainer to assess and address their personal needs and any issues that may have surfaced while conducting a session. We knew the sustainability of trainers was vital so they could perform with a steady presence and offer a quality session, delivering what was required in the field .At the time I was on call as a part of my role to promptly respond to any situation that arose.
During this role I prepared manuals and meetings to support each trainer to respectively follow LivingWorks protocols and maintain standards in key areas like punctuality, communication and dresscode. It was also important that I honoured the responsibility of being a role model with the protocols and safety procedures implemented by LivingWorks to keep both the presenter and participants safe.
