A Creative Session Drummer and Drum Technician with over 20 years of experience across multiple genres. Multi-ARIA Award winner for Best Australian Live Act in 2017 and 2023. Currently performing as Drummer and multi-instrumentalist for platinum-selling artist G Flip.
In April 2025, Ben had the privilege of performing with Kita Alexander as a supporting act for Dua Lipa during the Australian and New Zealand leg of her tour.
Ben has maintained an extensive touring schedule, performing and recording internationally across the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, Japan, and New Zealand. He has collaborated with a diverse array of artists, including Hilltop Hoods, ILLY, Kita Alexander Drapht, Jenna McDougall (Hevenshe), Carmada, Running Touch, LO!, LDRU, Peking Duk, Clairy Browne, Pop Will Eat Itself, Sub Atari Knives, Switchkicker, Yahtzel, and MM9.
In addition to his performance career, Ben has also dedicated his time to education, serving as a drum instructor at various institutions, including Drum City Sydney, School of Rock Sydney, Drum Centre Music Centre Sydney, Zen Studios, and the Melbourne Academy of Performing Arts.
Served as full-time session drummer and multi-instrumentalist for multi-platinum artist GFLIP since 2020.
Toured extensively across United States, Europe, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.
Collaborated with diverse musicians and production teams to elevate live performance quality.
Performed at some of the largest renowned festivals across the globe including Governors Ball New York, Reading and Leeds, and Splendour in the Grass.
Manage the drum dept of the hire section of Deluxe backline. My role is to service and maintain our inventory of drums and percussion as well as tune and setup to specifications outlined by all local and international Drummers and Percussionists touring in Australia.
From October 2013, I was the full-time drummer for the multi-platinum, multi-Aria winning artist ILLY.
During my time on this project, I have toured extensively throughout Australia and overseas, covering such countries as Japan, Germany, the UK, Canada, and Indonesia.
In 2016, I was awarded an Aria for Best Australian Live Act.
We have played every major music festival, including Groov'n The Moo, Falls Festival, Splendor in the Grass, Bass in the Grass, Big Pineapple, and have toured and shared the stage with such artists as The Hilltop Hoods, Vera Blue, Peking Duk, and Tones and I.
During my time at the North Fitzroy class i worked alongside the teachers there and helped create programs to assist the VCAL program
One of my own programs was to utilize a beat making program called Reason to demonstrate how to create music for the students to expand on and explore their creativity.
My main objectives were to:
- Work effectively with young people in the youth work context
- Work effectively with culturally diverse clients
- Participate in work health and safety
- Use target communication skills to build relationships
- Respond to critical situations
- Plan and conduct group activities
- Establish and monitor a case plan.
As well as
My main role at Machine was in the warehouse working on the print ovens and in the despatch area
- Monitoring quality control
- Picking and Sorting Orders for despatch for bands and clothing labels
- Catching shirts and stacking
- Stock control and organization of storage.
Managed the drum and percussion dept of BHSS, servicing and maintaining the equipment, as well as tuning and setting up specific riders according to the specifications sent through by all major touring artists both locally and internationally. I was also a touring drum tech representing BHSS, and worked for such artist's as Ace Freehley, Burt Bacharach, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Bat for Lashes, The Presets,
I was employed 1 - 2 nights a week as a live drumming performer to accompany any DJ's and other live performers that would perform at either Sublime or Home nightclub.
This would be a 4 hour shift playing continuously for the patrons of the club.

Billy Hyde was an Australian drumming icon and founder of what became the most prolific and important chain of Drum and later GMI stores in Australia.
I was lucky enough to work there in what i consider the best era of its History.
My role not only included all the Sales tasks but i also continued my love for Event Coordinating and helped to create some of the most memorable drum clinics and performance this country has ever seen.
