  • Management and Operations: Oversaw the Management, Logistics, Rostering, Culture, Performance Reviews and Weapons Storage/Handling of the Correctional Officers/Areas of the Melbourne County & Supreme
    Courts and Melbourne Assessment Prison.
  • Liaison Duties: Am the department Liaison with the Judaical Board, Judges, Associates, Prosecutors and other prominent Figures in the Court System of the County and Supreme Courts.
  • Case Coordination/Meetings: Organized and chaired multiple Cases of interest meetings from the departments perspective with the Judicial Board, Media, Outside Agencies and others when cases may have high media attention, offenders with special requirements, security concerns etc.
  • Cultural reform: In charge the Departments Cultural reform across both Court Complexes and the Staff Support Team at The Melbourne Assessment Prison which i achieved with various professional guides, implementation of plans and other items of interest.
  • Collaboration and Compliance: Worked along side and came too mutual solutions with the departments Union delegates and Occupational Health & Service representatives, while adhering to precessional guidelines and frame work.

  • Substantive line working between Spring Management Unit (High risk offenders) and the Acute Assessment Unit (Offenders with Acute Mental health issues), Overseeing a high level of Case Management, Intensive Case Management Plans, Collaboration with multiple stake holders, Upper Management and Other government
    Departments.
  • Outside of my substantive line, worked large line stints as a Senior
    Prison Officer in the roles of Offender Management, Operational
    Support Senior, Swanson Unit 7 Senior, Reception Senior and The
    cross over Senior between Spencer Unit and La Trobe Unit, With all
    the Case management and Offender Management required of all
    those areas to a high standard.
  • In this time was in the Higher Duties Pool for Prison Supervisor,
    with substantive runs in all areas of the Prison Supervisor
    Department, including but not limited too, Courts, Reception, Level
    3/4, Level 5 and Offender Management
  • Run and Organized a new Recruit Squad as the Squad Manager. (Supervisor position).
  • Implemented Many new process changes including but not limited
    too, Creation of a whole new Local Operational Procedure Framework (Koorie Art Program), Creation of a new Emergency Response Group (ERG) review interview template, tool and process, Was responsible for overseeing an ERG recruitment drive and panel interview member, Created new training table top content including battering rams, Shields, Extraction preparation, Dynamic Security Principles and Project Rust (Post Covid recovery project) and The Acute Assessment Unit Pool new rotational rostering system.

  • I worked across a majority of the Prison Officer roles through the open Prison, including substantial lines in Operational Support, La Trobe Unit 2, Spencer Unit 1, Spring Unit 8 ERG Line and the AAU PO Line.
  • Applied for a secured the role External Escort Officer and a member
    of the Emergency response Group.
  • Attainted the title of ERG Coordinator, overseeing ERG Activities and
    Coordination here at the Melbourne Assessment Prison.
  • Member of the State Training Group of three years between 2016 -
    2018. Working alongside Outside Emergency Service Agencies.
  • Secured positions in the Prison Officer Development Program and the Senior Prison Officer Development Program, completing my Certificate 3 & 4 in correctional Practise.
  • Became an Instructor in Batons, Formations and OC Spray,
    becoming the lead instructor responsible for the ordering and
    auditing of new stock, weapons and items.
  • Worked as a Squad Coordinator for a MAP Recruit course, assisting the Squad Manager in the running and day-to-day logistics and administration.
