Benjamin White

I have been employed at Wonga Park Primary School as a Full Time teacher since January 2021. I am an active participant in team planning and the execution of curriculum for my students. Some of my duties include but are not limited to:

• Participated in ongoing professional development opportunities, staying current on best practices in education and refining instructional techniques accordingly.
• Leading level teams in planning, organising and facilitating multiple Year Level Camps. Including decision making with school principal regarding staffing, costing and funding students whose families face financial difficulty.
• Assisting in and planning for presenting to parents during Information Nights.
• Communication with parents regarding student progress and any relevant concerns either academically or wellbeing based. Also communicating with individual student specialists (e.g. Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists,Paediatricians).
• Organisation and facilitation of Community Events (e.g. Colour Run)

I gained valuable international teaching experience across a range of secondary schools in Northern Leeds. My main placement was at Horsforth School, a well-regarded secondary school where I taught multiple classes and integrated into the staff team. This experience developed my adaptability, classroom management, and ability to work with diverse student populations.

• Total of 38 days of field experience with students across Year 7 - 12.
• Completed the role senior leader and mentor to group leaders during Year Level Camps, ensuring student enjoyment while prioritising safety.
• Responsible for safety of students on camps.
• Communication with school leadership throughout camps.
