  • Read the letters to the General Practitioners about the patients, sent by the Consultant Doctors and various hospital departments following their consultation or examination.
  • Input the relevant data onto the computer from the letters/reports, such as vital signs, examination details, diagnosis, test/imaging results etc using medical terminology as per the surgery protocol. If any old diagnosis or problem mentioned in the letter is not found in the system, then get the medical notes from the Medical Records Dept. and put the information correctly onto the system in order to help the GPs as well as for obtaining points while auditing, based on which the funding is provided by the National Health Service (NHS).
  • Make sure that the letter has been scanned onto the system with correct information. If not, pass the letter to the attention of the scanning department to rescan.
  • Input the information from the tidied/thinned medical notes of the patients (occasionally) using medical terminology as per the summarising guidelines.
  • Provide any information about the patients upon Doctors’ request.
  • Liaise with supervisor, practice manager and doctors as and when necessary.
