  • Conducting intake and screening of all matters referred for a family dispute resolution conference to ensure compliance with the commonwealth guidelines
  • Screening and assessment of client’s ability to participate effectively in FDR processes, especially where there is presenting issues relating to vulnerability, family and domestic violence
  • Provide legal information and referrals to conference clients and external legal practitioners in relation to files or the FDRC process
  • Analyze, assess and process applications for grants of aid in relation to financial eligibility for conference respondents (including gathering additional information to support and verify application details)
  • Scheduling family dispute resolution conferences- sending correspondence, contacting clients and suppliers and negotiating appointments
  • Inputting accounts authorized for payment and attending to finalization of conferencing files
  • Maintain conferencing data and reporting as required
  • Administrative functions to support the family dispute resolution conference process and team- opening and closing the office, maintaining equipment and supplies, mail, records management and other activities as directed
  • Contributing to the development and provision of training to Legal Aid Queensland staff where required, including assistance with colleagues case file load and management
