After completion of my graduate degree in Public Health, I applied for job in an INGO working in the sector of HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment and was recruited as an ART counselor where I work from 23rd October, 2017 to 3rd May, 2018. Secondly, I worked as an Administrator in an educational institution known as Dhawalagiri English Boarding School from 29th may, 2018 to 30th March 2019. Explaining about my work, my job description as an ART counselor includes: Provide comprehensive care and counseling to clients in the collaborative ART clinic at Nepal Government’s Hospital, collaboration with other health care professionals and PLHIV network and groups; provide psychosocial counseling maintain record of patients care and conduction of training to PLHIV and their family; and coordinate with support group meetings and as an Administrator my duties and responsibilities includes: review and observe current teaching methods and learning materials as needed for areas of improvement and to ensure they meet the current local, state and federal requirements, work with teachers and necessary staff to establish and uphold curriculum, school mission statement/culture and performance goals and standards, Meet with parents and work with teachers during scheduled conferences to review school policies, educational activities/events and student performance while offering information on upcoming changes to curriculum, programs and the like, approve job postings, hire, interview and onboard new teachers and additional staff members as they join the team, Create, review and modify school budget and resources at least once a month and many more. During my tenure I was given lots of opportunities to coordinate with various other sectors and stakeholders which built my self-confident, leadership and managerial capacities. However, I feel in order to excel in my carrier I need to learn more about the health-related issues and activities then I decided to peruse for my master degree. so, i started my abroad journey.
