Attend stand-up meetings to share and receive bed status updates for AMU and other wards.
Monitor patients needing cardiac monitoring and adjust bed placements based on clinical needs.
Work with Shift Coordinator to prioritize discharges and arrange transport and transfers.
Manage admissions from the Emergency Department and other wards requiring telemetry monitoring or HIVE beds.
Communicate effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Allocate staff based on seniority, junior level, and agency/casual status.
Delegate tasks like Schedule 4/8 checks, Resus Trolley checks, and Glucometer checks.
Complete the FLOW Report for ward bed status, staffing, and emergency codes.
Provide evidence-based nursing care, including assessment, intervention, and evaluation.
Undertake clinical shifts as directed by senior staff and the Nursing Director, including shift extensions if needed.
Act as a team leader to assign work based on the scope of practice of other nurses (junior, Enrolled, and AINs).
Use ISOBAR and Vital Journey Board for nonverbal communication.
Admit patients to HIVE (Hospital In Virtual Environment) beds.
Monitor cardiac patients and participate in ward rounds, engaging with departments like geriatric, medical, gastroenterology, haematology, and general surgery.
Educate patients and carers on post-discharge management and organize discharge summaries and referrals.
Complete clinical documentation and administrative tasks as required.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and policy review/development within the practice setting
