  • Analyzing whole blood RNA-Seq data for gene expression differences between i) SA participants and control participants ii) SA participants before and after treatment with mepolizumab and omalizumab
  • Evaluating the effects of gene expression on clinical parameters of SA participants
  • Using bioinformatics tools like Qiagen IPA software for visualization of RNA-seq data and interpretation of drug treatment results, CibersortX for immune cell deconvolution, g:profiler and Cytoscape for biological and molecular functions
  • Recruiting subjects for the study and managing their clinical data on REDCap
  • Drafting SOPs, reports, articles and presenting at scientific meetings

Research Assistant

Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Universitätsklinikum Jena
Jena, Germany
05.2012 - 04.2015
  • Worked on a research project that involved elucidating the role of calcium regulated and calcium permeable ion channels in melanoma
  • Cloning ion channel genes, transfecting into melanoma cells and studying their drug response, intracellular calcium impact on NFAT signaling, and cell proliferation
