  • As a part of one of Australia's largest steel distributors Southern steel group, I was in charge of operations and the warehouse at their Surdex steel Morwell Branch. Upon my arrival i was tasked with the challenge to increase warehousing and distribution efficiently. I implemented new layouts, procedures and equipment resulting in an increase in workflow and productivity.

  • Working for GG Engineering, where we fabricated and installed horse stables and equipment for the horse racing community
  • I started as a boilermaker fabricating, welding and fitting out of the equipment
  • We built stable complexes, stable buildings, sheds, stable fit outs, day yards, high speed treadmills, water treadmills, walkers, water walkers, wash bays, sand rolls, round yards and any thing else the horse racing community requires
  • After proving my skills, experience and capabilities In June 2016 i was promoted to foreman, i was responsible for the operation and production of the workshop with 6 staff members under me
  • I also communicated with and organised subcontractors who took on some of our work load
  • As foreman i had many rolls and responsibilities including stock take, delegating jobs, assisting in design of new and existing products and consulting with management, site management, draftsman, contractors and clients to run the workshop efficiently as possible to make deadlines and limit mistakes
  • As well as managing the workshop, with a lot of organisation and planning i also operated the press brake, guillotine, rollers, and lathes
  • With the knowledge i picked up about our products I also did maintenance on site repairing and maintaining our treadmills, walkers and water treadmills, which included, diagnosing, problem solving and communicating and consulting with clients
