Principal Engineer responsible for electrical design and testing of EHV/HV and LV including investigation and studies, specifications, inspections, standards preparation and design review/certification. Expertise in primary and secondary electrical design, earthing, lightning protection, arc flash assessment for generation, transmission, distribution, mining and industrial installations.

Responsible for undertaking a lead role in the provision of professional guidance and authoritative advice and expertise for effective delivery of projects for Hydro Tasmania and Entura's external clients.

Project lifecycle compliance to maximise revenue, capture learning’s and integrate into business systems to ensure continuous improvement. Providing a link between daily operations and strategic objectives was also involved. Monitoring and reviewing project manager’s performance for project delivery and reporting on forward order positions for contracted projects.

Responsible for providing a high degree of advice and expertise for the effective delivery of design projects for HV and EHV infrastructure. Preparation and review of design drawings, engineering studies and report, and specifications. Review of manufacturer's drawings and completion of factory inspections and testing witnessing. Site hold point inspection and testing of equipment and installations.

Responsible for leading and developing an effective engineering team offering professional consultancy services in areas of substation and transmission line design and contributing to the effectiveness of the wider consulting business. Responsibilities included people management and team business performance, preparation of bids, work schedules, supervision, technical leadership and mentoring skills to team members.

Responsible for contributing to delivery of engagements for clients with experience in preparing design drawings, engineering studies and specifications for HV/EHV assets and design integration of primary, secondary and civil/structural design.

Substation and power station protection and control. Experience included production of secondary design drawing packages, calculation and production of protection settings for variety of protection relays and system grading studies. System modelling and fault analysis, protection coordination studies, relay logic and settings for a variety of schemes.
