  • In 1999 I performed Policing observations of the popular consultation process and humanitarian efforts in East Timor for which I was awarded the Queen’s Unit Citation for Bravery.
  • In 2000 I supported Maronite communities in Cyprus as a UN humanitarian officer.
  • In 2006 I managed the Policing Liaison from Cyprus of the evacuation of Australians during the Israel/Lebanon conflict, coordinating with DFAT and AFP International Command.

Close personal protection and driver training, 1999 - 2011

  • Completed the Close Personal Protection (CPP) course in 1999, and following this program, I continued in the role of assisting both CPP and Driver Training for the AFP for new course participants in both principal and security car movements, and incident response techniques I also provided CPP training for participants from Samoa and the Solomon Islands as well.
  • Performed CPP duties at the Sydney Olympics (2000), Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) QLD (2002) and CHOGM Perth (2011). I also ran a team of CPP officers looking after Foreign Dignitaries (UK and Italy) post the events of 9/11 (USA) incident (2001). I have also performed CPP duties for numerous international visits, including Prince William as well as the USA Secretary of State, working closely with Comcar and its drivers, along with the international visits team
  • I have travelled to the middle east as the Security Liaison for an Australian Parliamentary delegation responsible for their physical and vehicle security detail.

  • These days, I enjoy cycling with a great bunch of like-minded people to keep fit, and more importantly, locate a great coffee spot to start the mornings
  • I also have gotten back into socially competitive squash and walking a few mornings a week too

Accomplishments

  • 1999 - Queen Elizabeth II 'Group Citation Bravery Award' for duties performed in East Timor's popular consultation
  • 2007 - Recognized by the Australian Bone Marrow and Donor Register for donating marrow to an ill child suffering from leukemia
  • 2012 - Recognised by Heartkids QLD for raising $20,000 to support children born with Congenital Heart Disease
  • 2022 - Recognition of performance in the duties performed in PNG, resulting in the successful release of an Australian citizen kidnapped in PNG
  • 2023 - AFP Commissioner and Australian Minister for Home Affairs recognition of duties performed in the dedication and professionalism, contributing to the successful release of a second Australian citizen in PNG
