Work History

Mechanical Fitter

Jadestone Energy, The Stag Platform
06.2019 - Current
  • Stag is a conventional oil production platform connected to the Dampier Spirit Floating Storage and Offtake vessel. The field commenced operation in 1998 and produced up to 3000 barrels of oil per day. The reservoir consists of a low-relief, faulted, four-way disclosed structure. It has a 15.5m oil column, but no determined aquifer, as the rock underlying the oil column is impermeable. Stag crude contains little gas in solution and no overlying gas cap has been mapped. Reserves have been estimated at 35-55 million barrels (bbl). The field initially produced 30,000bbl oil/day although production rates are expected to decline rapidly, following a sharp increase in water cut.
  • Duties
  • Responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance of the facility.
  • Supervising subordinates and being responsible for their safety during the execution of duties.
  • Proficient utilisation of SAP, computerised systems and safety management systems.
  • Developing safety procedures and work place practices.
  • Flange management, P&ID drawings and schematics.
  • Manual and power tooling for torquing: Laser alignment
  • Fitting a wide range of fixed plant including power generation, diesel engines, compressors, pumps, cranes, centrifugal separators, heat exchangers, emergency systems and hydraulic systems.

Mechanical Technician

Kuiper, Shell Prelude
09.2017 - 06.2019
  • Shell’s floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility is currently being commissioned 475km north-north east of Broome, Western Australia. Shell’s Prelude FLNG Facility recently reached a significant milestone, with gas introduced onboard. The Gallina, an LNG Carrier from Singapore, carried out the import. This cooled down the tanks and process equipment and pipework with gas. With gas onboard, Prelude’s utilities can now switch to run on gas rather than diesel. The next step will be to test and ready the LNG plant on board Prelude in preparation for opening the wells. This is followed by a period called start-up, ramp-up. LNG will be produced after this, when it is safe to do so. A critical part of the commissioning phase is people movements to and from the Prelude facility. This is taking place through Broome WA. Our focus is moving people safely and working together with the Kimberley communities. The Northern Territory plays a significant role in the supply chain for Prelude, through our Darwin Supply base and our contractors who manage warehousing, maintenance and logistics. This is an exciting time for Australia. The majority of Prelude contracts have been awarded to Australian contractors and the project will provide hundreds of skilled jobs for Australians. The safe and reliable start-up of Prelude’s operations will be our highest priority through the next phase of the project.
  • Duties
  • High Pressure Leak testing
  • Flange management
  • Equipment preservation
  • Commissioning, testing & adjusting

Mechanical Technician

Clough/ E2O, The Wheatstone HUC
12.2016 - 04.2017
  • In April 2015, the Wheatstone Project made history with Chevron’s heaviest topsides float-over and installation onto the steel gravity substructure (SGS), forming one of Australia’s largest offshore platforms. Situated in over 70 metres of water the platform is 225 metres tall from the base of the SGS to the top of the tower and is designed to withstand 12 storey high cyclonic waves.
  • Once operational the platform will process 2 billion cubic feet of gas per day (bcfd), enough for every household and commercial user in Australia, excluding industrial use.
  • Duties
  • Hydro testing
  • Flange management/Gray-loc installation
  • Equipment preservation
  • Laser alignment

Mechanical Fitter

UGL, The Stag Platform
09.2015 - 12.2016
  • Stag is a conventional oil production platform connected to the Dampier Spirit Floating Storage and Offtake vessel. The field commenced operation in 1998 and produces up to 4500 barrels of oil per day. The reservoir consists of a low-relief, faulted, four-way disclosed structure. It has a 15.5m oil column, but no determined aquifer, as the rock underlying the oil column is impermeable. Stag crude contains little gas in solution and no overlying gas cap has been mapped.
