I have been a resident of the Penrith area for most of my life. I grew up in St Marys and attended the Bennett Rd. Public School and the Colyton High School. My early life included involvement in the local football club at Colyton Colts and then later with the St Marys Football club. Whilst growing up I was also involved in the local cricket club and the 1st East St Marys cub and scout group.
Later on I continued to live in the Penrith District and owned properties at South Kingswood, Lemongrove and Werrington Downs and I have lived at my current address in Glenmore Park for over 20 years.
For the last 40 years I have been employed by the NSW Police Force and I have obtained the rank of Detective Chief Inspector. I currently hold the position of Crime Manager at the Riverstone PAC. I retire from the Police on the 17 March, 2022.
During this time I have constantly been involved in many sporting and community activities. I am a member of the St Marys Leagues Club (Saints) and have been since its beginning, holding badge number 104. I played with St Marys from 1979 to my playing retirement in 1990. After that time I became the head trainer with the club and continued that role until 2011. I still have close contact with the club and personally know the President Warren Smith and each of the Board of Directors.
I was fortunate in my playing career to also have played with the Penrith Junior Rugby League representative teams in the Harold Matthews Cup team and with the Presidents Cup team for two years. I was also selected in the NSW Police Rugby League team which toured New Zealand in 1983.
During my time playing rugby league I also continued to play cricket in the Nepean District Cricket Association and played in the Penrith Touch football competition for many years. After I finished my role as the head trainer with the St Marys Rugby League club I commenced involvement with the Penrith City Softball Association. I played softball with the Glenmore Phantoms Softball Club and and played in teams at the Pan Pacific Masters games over many years.
From mid 2013 to the end of 2016 I was the Chairman of the 1st South Penrith Scout group.
I still have many affiliations with the sporting clubs and groups that I was involved in and I know many other local residents who are involved in both the day to day activities and management of sporting groups in the Penrith area.
