  • In March 2016 I was approached by Sun Trading to drive new business in QLD, NSW and NT. The objective was to increase the company’s market share, develop new and long term strategies and to expand our coverage across the eastern seaboard. Taking the Worldlawn dealer base from 3 full time up to 60 active Australian dealers and several distributors in the Pacific Islands and Asia. I was elevated to National Sales and Marketing Manager for all Australian dealers and distributors. This role involved liaising with Television, Print, Radio and other forms of media to make sure all material had been completed and submitted on time. Conducting market research to determine value for money advertising. Actively involved with several charity organizations. Manage and coordinate all promotional activities. Deliver successful projects within budget and eliminating the forms of media that did not fit the companies target audience. Producing Catalogues, Brochures and Price lists for our dealer base. Design and installation of signage, banners and in store displays for the entire dealer network. Successful branding and imaging. Web development and maintenance. Submit reports, targets and budgets to the Directors. Reporting to the directors and liaising with our factories in China and the USA. Develop strategies in a rapidly changing market place and work with the Technical and New Products Manager to introduce new and appropriate products to our ever increasing range of Power Equipment. Maintain and build international customer and supplier relationships in countries such as USA, Canada, Japan, Italy, Middle East and Oceania.

  • In March 2009 I was appointed to head up the failing Golf and Turf Division. The objective was to increase the company’s market share, develop new and long term strategies and to acquire new suppliers to bolster the Golf and Turf range of aftermarket products. I was responsible for nine Territory Managers, marketing and promotional programs, targets, GP, liaising with our overseas suppliers and I was successful to increased the Golf and Turf turn over by an impressive 40+% over the next two years. This division then evolved from just an aftermarket parts and accessories supplier to a complete one stop shop, including machinery and accessories, for the Golf and Turf Industry. I was then appointed the National Marketing Manager for all divisions of the Powerup Lawncare Products Company. This role involved liaising with Television, Print, Radio and other forms of media to make sure all material had been completed and submitted on time. Conducting market research to determine value for money advertising. Manage and coordinate all promotional activities. Deliver successful projects within budget and eliminating the forms of media that did not fit the companies target audience. Producing Catalogues, Brochures and Price lists for the PLP customer base. Design and installation of signage, banners and in store displays for the entire dealer network. Successful branding and imaging. In 2012 I was elevated to the role of National Sales and Marketing Manager for all divisions. Reporting to the Divisional Manager the new position requirements are to manage 11 Territory Managers, one marketing assistant, one Golf and Turf Coordinator and also to provide guidance to internal sales staff. Submit reports, targets and budgets to the Divisional Manager. Develop strategies in a rapidly changing market place and work with the Technical and New Products Manager to introduce new and appropriate products to our ever increasing range of Power Equipment. Work alongside the Purchasing Department to ensure stock levels are within the required parameters to service our customer base, now and for the upcoming months without the company carrying excess stock. Liaise with the Accounts Manager to show duty of care with our customers account limits. Attend senior and middle management meetings to report on the current status relating to my department and to update senior management on targets, budgets and future programs.

Mechanical duties varied from lawn mowers to commercial contractors equipment, Concreters Flex tools and engine powered trowels right through to electrical power packs to service Singapore Airline training Lear Jets.

  • My role as Technical Service Coordinator was an extremely complex, high pressured, challenging and diverse role. Day to day duties included answering Toro dealers technical questions, assist in the job of processing warranty claims, supporting the spare parts department, sourcing temporary staff to perform machinery reworks and general research to make sure I was up to speed. Further to my daily tasks I was responsible for technical training of Toro’s Australian dealer network which involved coordinating training venues and flights in each state of Australia as well as preparing training material and machinery for each location. In conjunction with national training duties I would occasionally undertake training of international outlets especially from the Asia region. I worked closely with the new products manager on new products, ideas and issues arising from the field. My own personal training and development required travel to Italy and the USA for weeks at a time. This gave me the opportunity to gain experience at factory level and be prepared and ahead of the game for any upcoming product releases or technical problems. I then returned with all this new material and knowledge back to Australia to collate for the next Australia Service Training schedule.
