  • Company Overview: TWS was a recruitment agency engaged in the labour hire market in Victoria, NSW, Queensland and Western Australia
  • As the General Manager I was involved in all aspects of running the company
  • I was based in Melbourne and engaged in the day to day management of the Accounts and Administration of the company as well as the management of the staff
  • I would oversee the recruitment of new staff, manage and maintain the setup of their user profiles on the servers, induct and train them on systems and manage them to achieve the KPI’s set for them
  • I have a good working knowledge of many of the software programs we operated including; MYOB AccountRight plus, Recruitment Systems TRIS, Windows Server and Exchange Server along with the range of Microsoft office products
  • I had 2 payroll and accounts staff in Melbourne to process the timesheets, do the pays and create invoices for our clientele on a weekly basis, from this I would run a number of reports to extract the information needed to pay internal staff bonuses and sign off on the final pay run, ensuring the eventual figures matched up
  • At the end of the month I would prepare reports for superannuation funds, Payroll Tax, Pay As You Go Withholding Tax, and a number of other State and Statutory bodies, and authorise payments to them
  • At the end of the quarter I would prepare the BAS and lodge it with the Australian Taxation Office using the ATO portal

  • We moved into larger offices and eventually into a very large newly refurbished office at 450 St Kilda Rd
  • With 7 staff I had moved away from recruiting and had begun to work on the business rather than in it
  • An opportunity arose to open an office in Perth and then a second office in WA at Rockingham, 1 hour south of Perth
  • The mining boom meant that WA was having staffing madness
  • At the peak we had over 10 staff in WA and were paying over 250 casual employees
  • In 2011, we opened an office in Upper Mount Gravatt, 10 mins from Brisbane CBD
