Achievements

  • I led a small team to seek approval from the Committee of Cabinet to introduce three building-related bills into the NSW Parliament. I received very positive feedback from my Executive Director, Director and Manager in relation to this project and my ability to jump in and get results. To achieve results, I have led the strategic planning and management of the project including assessing risks to the project’s timeline, tracking its progress and reporting to senior leaders. I also led and worked with the team to prepare the cabinet submission, Decision Regulatory Impact Statement, Policy Statement and communications material.

  • Instructed the Parliamentary Counsel's Office to draft Ministerial Orders for the Hon. Kevin Anderson, during the COVID-19 pandemic, granted exemptions under the Retirement Villages Act to enable compliance with Public Health Orders and keep residents safe.
  • Led changes to the security of payment laws in NSW to ensure contractors doing construction work have the right to receive progress payments for their work, preventing insolvency in the building industry.
  • Led the research project into illegal phoenixing in the building and construction industry and put forward recommendations to address this practice in future legislation.
