• Coles is my recent job and my longest. I was in self serve or registers assisting customers. On registers I would greet the customer, have a steady conversation as I packed and scanned their items on a POS machine then bagged them up whilst also handling payments. When free or closing I would clean the register, clear the bins, count the till and clear it. On the other hand with self serve I would assist customers, communicate with my colleagues on an in ear device to do price checks/ return or replace items, occasionally go to service desk where I would serve/sell cigarettes or assist any issues the customer had in store. At my time I would also do closing shifts to which I would clean the self service machines, check the money then print its status, close off the area, clean it and tidy up then close the roller doors. Occasionally I would move from customer service to do stock/grocery which included grabbing empty boxes from the shelves, rotating remaining stock to the front then compacting the cardboards.
