Accomplishments

  • Successful restructures within all areas of the organisation which included Aged Care, Child Youth and Family Services, Mental Health, Home Care packages, Property Services and Head Office.
  • Implemented a successful traineeship project with10 trainees successfully gaining employment after completing their traineeships with UnitingSA. This also involved the upskilling of current staff to gain a certificate in Individual Support.
  • The new 50-million-dollar West Lakes Aged Care facility became part of my portfolio to which I lead the recruitment process for. As part of this, meant the closing of one of our older Aged Care facilities where many staff had served long tenure with over20-30 years. This was a delicate change management process which I assisted the Executive Manager of Aged Care and Senior Manager of Aged Care deliver and support staff.
  • Through effectively building relationships with managers across the organisation, we were able to change the function of Human Resources from a functional department to a consultative, contemporary, safe place staff could come if they needed support and advice.
  • Solving complex Industrial cases sensitively and most importantly, still ensuring staff were treated respectfully and feeling supported through performance related matters which often resulted in suspension and terminations.
  • Implementing and continually improving Assessment Centres as a way of attracting and retaining talent.
  • As part of our 100-year Anniversary I was able to implement a staff thank you brochure with a chocolate heart and read ‘Our employees are at the heart of our organisation’.
