With 16 years of teaching experience across diverse educational settings, I bring a strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively. I am self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality learning experiences. Most recently, I have specialised as an EAL/D teacher, working with newly arrived students to support their English language acquisition and integration into school life. I am passionate about supporting students with English as a Second Language and have extensive experience teaching Kindergarten to Year 6. My approach focuses on fostering both academic growth and the emotional wellbeing of each student, ensuring they feel supported, valued, and empowered to succeed.
I am currently an EALD Teacher working with small groups of children primarily from a refugee background. I am responsible for building relationships based on trust and respect and developing, providing and maintaining a safe and positive environment. I follow the ESL Scales and Progressions and ensure students are engaging in lessons, units and experiences that are meaningful, fun and relevant.
My role at Head & Heart Mindfulness (H&HM) was Assistant Manager and Mindfulness Educator. I taught children aged 2-12 years mindfulness and meditation. I planned, programmed and implemented unique and individual lessons and units, aimed to support children's emotional and mental well being, health, self-regulation, resilience and cognitive development. I also assisted in the creation of the business's Professional Development for teachers and was soley responsible for gaining NESA approval for the course. I oversaw staffing, timetabling, liaising with school principals and executive staff and marketing for the business.
For 7 years I taught in a fulltime and part time capacity as a classroom teacher at Kahibah Public School. I taught Stage 1, 2 and 3 on straight, composite and cross stage classes. My roles at the school included assistance with whole school sport, organiser of the Year 6 farewell, Aboriginal Liaison and member of the mathematics committee.
I enjoy reading, yoga, the beach and being outdoors in nature, and spending time with family and friends.
