Summary

I was thrust into the teaching/learning environment during my posting to RAAF School of Technical Training as an instructor. Here I discovered my passion for teaching and as a result I obtained my formal teaching qualifications. It continued after my discharge from the RAAF, culminating in me teaching at primary schools in Queensland.

After retirement, I continued to do supply teaching purely because of my love for the classroom.

My philosophy is a bit "old school". I had a poster in my classrooms stating, "I don't want you to be better students. I want you to be better people". I strongly believe that if work ethic, personability and pride in self are there, the academic results will follow.
