Through my experience with leadership projects at school, many volunteer roles, and multiple workplaces, I gained numerous skills and valuable experiences. My work has resulted in being recognised with numerous awards and achievements, both from the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney, with its related institutions and school, as well as my very own Syriac Catholic Church.
I learned to apply all the valuable learning experience to my passion for teaching, which would be evident in my ambition to always improve my abilities and be the most outstanding teacher I aim to be.
Conducting school-wide outreach initiatives both online and in person, giving advice to primary and secondary school students about ACU, university life, resources, and their path to tertiary education; coordinating group activities; and arranging campus visits for those students.
I work cooperatively with the classroom teacher to provide equal learning and assistance to students who require further assistance with Maths and English as a second language by translating into Arabic and offering additional explanation and support through my voluntary work as a learning support assistant.
My responsibilities include planning activities and lessons with other teachers to prepare students for mass and the sacrament of holy communion. I also help with Saturday school Christmas party celebrations along with being leader of the youth group by setting up camps, hosting parties, and leading sessions and ensuring the continuity of the youths group.
In the past two years, I have served the college by holding these leadership positions as student representatives and leader of the Justice, as well as by promoting the work of Caritas Australia, leading activities for Reconciliation Week and Refugee Week, and creating an opportunity for the sharing of refugee experiences at the college. As a result, I have been part of school events such as the CSDA public speaking competition and debating, religious activities, and community involvement in the Hosting an Environment initiative at school.
Therefore, I joined the Josephite climate activists. I have worked closely with the Sisters of St. Joseph on social justice initiatives concerning the environment, refugees, and the young Josephite Retreat.I participated in zoos as a representative of my school, and I had to share a photo of me passionately supporting advocates for climate justice on social media.
