My role as a Unit Helper is to help the Unit Leaders to facilitate the Girl Guides programme for guides aged 5-17. I currently volunteer in a unit that consists of guides aged 8-14. It is importaant that we help them to run their own programme based on their interests as Guides Australia is a Guide-Led Programme

I help guide them in how to approach each task, help with planning and I am then there to support as they work through the task.

This is helping me to further develop my leaderships skills, work under my own initiative as well as part of a wider team.

• Work on front counter, drive-thru and Cafe.
• Worked well with teammates and accepted coaching from management team.
• Took orders, prepared meals, and collected payments.
• Collaborated with team members to complete orders.
• Provided excellent customer service by greeting customers and meeting quality expectations.
• Kept food preparation area, equipment, and utensils clean and sanitary.
• Assisted other team members to achieve goals.
• Operated cash register to ring up final bill and process various forms of payment.
• I have worked mornings, day, late night and night shifts and am familiar with the tasks relevant to the shift being worked
• Improved customer satisfaction by providing efficient and friendly service during peak hours.
• Expedited orders with accuracy, resulting in reduced wait times for customers.
• Maintained restaurant cleanliness through regular cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces.
• Demonstrated exceptional multitasking abilities while managing multiple orders during busy shifts without compromising quality or service standards.
• Restocked workstations with supplies and food display cases with fresh selections to decrease customer waiting during busy periods.
• Promptly resolved customer complaints, escalating major issues to supervisor.

My role as a junior mentor is to help younger guides to complete their peak achievement awards.

• Assisted with sorting of donated clothes, toys and Maternity Items, separating usable items with non usuable items
• Assisted with packing of items into specified bundles ready to be distributed to families requiring support
• Worked in team environment to maintain high levels of productivity.
• Took and followed detailed directions from others.
