Summary

Dr. Cal Volks is a Level B lecturer, researcher, and experienced health promotion practitioner with a PhD and a strong track record of teaching, innovative curriculum development, and applied research across global Public Health contexts. She has taught, supervised, and coordinated undergraduate and postgraduate Public Health courses, including :Socioecological models of health promotion and Public Health research methods, delivering informative, engaging, and inclusive student experiences. Cal brings expertise in Public Health and health promotion and has published on public health interventions for marginalised populations, including solo mothers and LGBTQIA partners accessing public funded donor-assisted reproductive technologies in Victoria; as well as socioecological approaches to the prevention of HIV among adolescents in the Western Cape, South Africa. Her research has been funded by institutions such as Brown University Public Health Dept., The University of Cape Town Public Health Dept., and the Australian Research Council and includes the design and evaluation of a digital tool to enhance university-based bystander responses to gender-based violence.
