Having grown up on a farm in a family that has a passion for agriculture, yet the ability to also diversify from farming, whilst still being able to appreciate the ups and downs of everyday farming. This has given me the chance during senior school to be able to explore a range of different career option in both the corporate, private and public sectors, which all provide a different experience. During school i was fortunate enough to be able to complete work experience at the local public hospital, a family owned mixed enterprise farm as well as a corporate mixed farming operation. Having completed this work experience i have been able to appreciate the diverse business structures as i was able to enjoy and gain satisfaction from my work.
I am completing this application in the hope of being able to gain many new connections, further my knowledge of agricultural practices and gain the ability to better manage the business side of an agriculture operation which is becoming more and more important in running a successful farm/enterprise. The ability to gain tertiary education allows the opportunity for a career in corporate agribusinesses which are growing and providing terrific careers for those in both director and management roles.
