Wet Tropics World Heritage Area

Spring 2024

Conducted land surveys, collected soil samples, measured species richness and evenness in multiple rainforest ecosystems. Followed by data input and analysis.

Reforestation Project Volunteer

Wongabel National Forest

Spring 2024

Worked with conservationists on the reforestation of a Mabi Forest type. Learned how to collect and plant native species. Prepped a site bordering the Wongabel National Forest and planted approximately 3,000 trees.

Marine Biology Research

Lizard Island Research Station

Spring 2024

Conducted field-work based research on diversity of butterflyfish species within the Great Barrier Reef. Practiced data collection underwater of fish abundance and behavior along with reef composition.

Hackensack Riverkeeper Volunteer 

Hackensack, New Jersey

2021-2022

Worked with Hackensack Riverkeeper Inc., a local nonprofit organization, on various cleanups. Assisted in cleaning up pollution in and around the Hackensack River, creating a safer environment for aquatic life.

Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre Volunteer 

Fitzroy Island and Cairns Aquarium

Spring 2024

Cared for injured sea turtles found within the Great Barrier Reef. Assisted in physical treatment, feeding, and cleaning tanks.
