Working as the clerk within the Courts Administration Authority Clerks Branch has included tasks such as:
· Managing busy, fast-paced and public facing Court rooms by organising and directing the calling on of matters, swearing in parties and witnesses, communicating effectively with the judiciary, court staff, prosecution, parties and defence lawyers, recording proceedings, producing outcomes including efficiently producing remand and commitment warrants and bail and bond paperwork, diary management.
· Assisting judiciary with any administrative work as needed including typing and editing judgments, producing transcript, communications management and liaising with court staff and public agencies.
· Managing administrative requests from parties and public agencies for transcript, court documentation and any other requests.
· Training and supporting new staff.
· Assisting judiciary, management and staff with the implementation and running of a new online data entry system (ECMS).
· Assisting management with ECMS statistics and reporting.
· Managing administrative requests through multiple mailboxes and phone services.
· Travelling to and running court in country circuit locations including the APY lands.
· Provide quality face to face, electronic and/or telephone based procedural advice to members of the public, court users and other stakeholders in accordance with relevant service standards.
· Deliver superior customer service, representing the Authority in a professional manner at all times.
· Ensure court files are prepared and transferred using appropriate technical resources in line with legislative requirements, practices and procedures.
· Efficient and accurate processing of all documents/transactions lodged at the Court or produced in the registry.
· Ensure monetary transactions are accurately processed and disbursements and reconciliations are prepared.
