Summary

I have been employed in the Day Surgery Unit at Hobart Private Hospital as a registered nurse (RN) for 25 years. I have extensive experience in this area, including patient assessment, pre-operative and post-operative care through to discharge. Ensuring adequate pain management and safe medication administration. I am committed to ensuring a positive patient experience through effective care, legal and ethical decision-making, and patient advocacy. I have cared for day cases, ranging from general surgery, urology, gynaecology, endoscopy, plastics, orthopaedics, treatment of pain, and oral surgery.

Prior background experience includes working as an RN at Box Hill Hospital (BHH) in their Hospital in the Home (1999-2000) program and also as an RN/phlebotomist in the BHH pathology department.

After registering, I worked on the Tasmanian Neurosurgical Unit at RHH. I also worked in a similar unit in Romford, United Kingdom, for 6 months in 1997. From 1994 to the end of 1996, I was employed at Calvary Lenah Valley in surgical and high-dependency care.
