During my 10 years at Lillian's as a Case manager i case managed up to 6 young woman at a time offering a specific therapeutic style case management program that i developed myself with the aim to integrate clients back into the community with the skills and knowledge to have the life they dream of. I am highly skilled in working with young women with complex trauma and high levels of mental health and suicidality. In depth weekly case work sessions including goal planning and case planning with clients. Teaching life and living skills. I worked shift work and sleepovers providing 24/7 care. Conducting Risk assessment's and monitoring Risks for young people. Responding to referrals and new client intake. Advocating for client needs. I Provided training to students and volunteers . Mandatory reporting knowledge. Working with families and relatives of young women. Office skills such as responding to emails, data collection, networking, applying for funding, answering phones, minuting and chairing staff meetings and case conferences. Working in a small team and on my own as well as working from home. House keeping duties. Organizing and facilitating House meetings in house and in outreach houses. In this time I ran a successful Domestic Violence group for women. I Helped with centrelink issues and helping clients apply for housing. Advocating for clients.

Working at Newtown Mission inspired me to go on to study Youth Work as I built some great rapport with young clients.

WORKSHOPS

  • Girls Only - A group run weekly at MYRC for girls in highschool. The group included cooking food together, doing arts and crafts and enjoying food and conversations.
  • Girls Club- a partnership between Lillian's, MYRC and Marrickville high for girls attending marrickville highschool. The group included preparing and serving lunch. The group ran for 30 minutes weekly to engage the very small numbers of females attending Marrickville high. I offered casework to young girls and provided this service directly with marrickville high.
