Throughout my physiotherapy career I have consistently demonstrated my commitment to provision of best practice and care to all.
This necessarily includes utilizing a strong evidence based approach to practice, continuing to advance my knowledge through professional development and seek peer review.
I have developed an advanced level of specialized knowledge and clinical skill in the area of persistent pain management which has been recognized by the Australian Physiotherapy Association awarding of Titling as a Pain Physiotherapist.
I bring a strong commitment to working as a member of the health care team and the provision of an cohesive approach to care.
I am involved with the development of persistent pain services at both a local and statewide level.
Currently this is development of a Pelvic Pain pathway within Metro North & TCPRC with collaboration with other stakeholders at a statewide level.
I have excellent communication skills and my commitment to patient care has been recognised with an RBWH Service Line CCCSS Values in action award for integrity and always taking the extra steps to ensure patient care.
Throughout my career I have attended a number of courses and conferences specifically related to persistent pain management and practice which reflect the biopsychosocial model of these complex disease presentations
These are detailed in my professional development record
I continue to access research publications, journals and literature regarding many aspects of pain, from a neuroscience, biomedical, biopsychosocial and physiotherapy practice perspective and sought to discuss treatments and approaches with acknowledged experts in these areas
see attached for recent attendances
I remain committed to the dissemination of knowledge and skills to both my physiotherapy colleagues and also the interdisciplinary team within which I work and and withing Queensland.
This is evidenced by the scope of presentations I have been asked to deliver whilst in my current role and encompass many different audiences, whether a general introduction to Persistent Pain or more specific evidence based treatment approaches for complex pain conditions.
