Work History

05.2025 - Current
  • Developed strong working relationships with colleagues, contributing to a positive work environment.
  • Provided exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Screened and transferred incoming calls, took down messages, and transmitted information and documents to internal personnel.
  • Aided colleagues, managers, and customers through regular communication and assistance.

Administration officer

NAPLAN, Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority
02.2025 - 03.2025
  • In this role as administration officer I provided helpdesk administrative and logistical support for Principals and Teachers during NAPLAN. I used data to inform decision-making and develop strong working relationships with stakeholders. One of my job tasks was to answer telephone inquiries from teachers or principals that were seeking assistance on how to use the NAPLAN platform. I would speak to them and gather information in regards to their problem and then work through how to troubleshoot so that they had success. Once this information was gathered, and the phone call had finished I would then create a Jira which is a recordkeeping tool for incoming and outgoing conversations with stakeholders. This package enabled recordkeeping in great detail of conversations that we had for example when there were Technical issues, questions on how to do things in the NAPLAN platform and correspondence in or out.
  • To be able to do this, I had to be able to rapidly learn and gather information on how to use the NAPLAN platform and then be able to portray that to stakeholders who were not used to using it.

Short Term Administrative Assistant

Birkdale South SS
07.2024 - 09.2024
  • This was a short term administrative assistant role, in a fast-paced environment. I hit the ground running and completed my daily duties with excellent quality and consistency. During difficult periods with intense workloads I was able to ensure a calm disposition and environment for the customers. I was commended for this ability.
  • Consistent routine administrative duties
  • Handling complex customer service complaints
  • Emergency response - first aid, handling medication
  • Client communications in person and over phone calls

General administration

Riskpoynt Ltd
07.2015 - 08.2023
  • Relocated to the United Kingdom to work in our own IT start up company called Riskpoynt Ltd. My role was general administration in which I booked meetings, conferences and travel requirements. I also prepared written correspondence, filing and coordinated visas for staff to travel.

Enrolments Registrar

Redeemer, Lutheran College
01.2009 - 07.2015
  • Enrolments Registrar at Redeemer, Lutheran College. This was a very busy position within a P-12 private school. My role was to be the public face of the school college to enrol, meet and greet new families at the school. I was required to have good written and vocal communication skills to liaise with teaching staff, parents, the wider school and church community. I was required to keep a database of applications for enrolments and family information on students up-to-date. I designed the enrolment form that families filled out to secure a place for the child at the school. This information was then transcribed into our database. I would be required to call up spreadsheets depending on a certain criteria to provide teachers for class roles, allergy information and for general student information. I also maintained this database when students passed through the college to become alumni allowing us to contact them in the future for specific interest activities.

Various positions

Government
  • I have worked within the Government for over 18 years in various capacities all within the Department of Education. I have acquired good knowledge of the functions of the department and gained an understanding of the strategic functions from my various positions.
  • I started my Government Career at the School of Distance Education in the enrolments section. I was required to collate student enrolments and then data entry the enrolment information into the enrolment system. I was required to create a student file and then keep them up to date when new information came in.
  • I have worked in the Professional Development branch of Strategic Human Resources. Within this position, I worked with colleagues involved in a number of projects who were happy to share their knowledge with other members of the team, I asked questions and learnt. Whilst working here, I was involved in a number of projects simultaneously each having very specific time frames and outcomes. On a daily basis I was required to divide my time between these projects.
  • Example I was required to prioritize my work e.g. payments of scholarships, TJ Ryan, Pearl Duncan, Bid O’Sullivan to ensure that the Bursaries were processed before the fortnightly pay cycle. I did this by sorting all tasks and applying a priority level in my Microsoft outlook. I met regularly with the Project Officer, Rewards and Recognition and the Project Manager, Enhancing Leaders for the Future and Supportive School Leadership to keep them up-to-date on each activity.
  • I received recognition from peers for organizing successful training programs, and the processing of claims in a speedy manner. As a result of this, I was asked to perform additional duties in a higher capacity.
  • I have been able to readily adapt to the various requirements within the department where I have been employed, my prior experience and knowledge enabled me to quickly establish myself in new roles and become a contributing member of the team.
  • I acquired a Diploma of Government qualification and successfully completed all units whilst working in Public and Media Relations.
  • Prior to leaving the department to start at Redeemer Lutheran College, I was acting as the Procurement Officer whilst also maintaining my role as Executive Assistant at One School. In both these roles I liaised on a daily basis with senior staff, Contractors and members of the general public. My communications skills varied from face-to-face, written and by telephone. I had been frequently commended for the professional matter and which I carried out these duties.
  • An example of this as the Acting Procurement Officer, I was required to liaise with companies in regard to the extension of an on-site contractor. This involved writing letters, discussions over the phone and directly liaising with the Contractor.
  • I have excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize workflow was important whilst dealing with many tasks at once especially in a high volume environment. Managing executive files for the One School Program Manager and the Director Contracts, whilst simultaneously assisting as the Acting Procurement Officer had many areas where this skill was maintained. Example One School was in the process of creating a financial model with the assistance of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited. My role was to liaise directly with the financial modelers to find out what their requirements were; gather data, documentation, register and then Trim. This activity involved short timelines and each task needed to be assessed and issued with a priority ranking to achieve this.
  • I consulted with stakeholders, the Program Manager and the Director Contracts on their needs and expectations well ahead of time. Planning preparation time into my calendar, setting time frames for key milestones, prioritizing my work, and using slower work periods to get ahead with future tasks. I would advertise clear timelines for each task assigned to me well ahead of time, confirm details and arrangements with participants and consultants. I recorded all information in a notebook so that I was able to go back over it for clarification if needed.
