On Arrival to Perth at the start of June i got the oppertunity to join Mallard Contracting as a Project Engineer

Jobs Included:

• Dealing with the BHP project supervisor and any issues that arose
• Scheduling and Planning work for Crew onsite
• Liaising with Property owners
• Working with Office based project manager on any issues or queries
• Working with Supervisor in on organizing work flow
• Quality Control
• Daily Site Diaries and Progress pictures for Clients records
• Keeping to schedule and managing workflow

• The projects I am involved with in AMC Contracts is: Site Manager on a 12 guestroom 16 apartment building in Moycullen Engineering and setting out with GPS on Phase 2 of 60 houses, 4xTerrace Houses+1 Detach Housing project,
• Direct contact with main architects and structural engineers' day to day on the design of the building
• Problem solving and coming up with alternatives to design changes/errors
• Quality Control on Concrete structures
• Sourcing and ordering appropriate materials required for construction, selecting based on client budget and durability needed
• Reviewing of Architectural and Structural drawing
• Scheduling of project
• Regularly checking TGD and other Documents for the building's compliance with regulations as the build progresses
• Regular chairing Comm Calls and on-site meetings
• Co-Ordination of on-site work between subcontractors
• Overseeing of safety paperwork and making sure all workers adhere to safety regulations

After Graduating I joined with Finna Construction working on a Government project to deliver OPW Office buildings in Galway

The jobs my role covered was:

• Reviewing of drawings and drawing control
• Daily Diary
• Sourcing materials, pricing of materials and requisitioning
• Daily/Weekly Safety Documentation control as we did not have a fulltime onsite Safety officer
• Overseeing civil works( Storm/Sewer) and tieing into existing
• Quality control on concrete
• Closing out snag lists
• Took charge of Client weekly walkthroughs

( Progress/Safety Audits)

• Weekly Basic Machinery inspections
• Filling in for Site manager when he was absent
• Followed scope of work documents to keep projects on schedule and costs within budget
