  • Worked within Explosive Materiel Branch’s Engineering Management System to develop engineering documentation for the Introduction Into Service of 10 ammunition natures and explosives over 5 unique weapon platforms and systems. Documentation includes Hazard Logs, Safety Case Reports, Performance Verification Reports and Technical Publications.
  • Consulted stakeholders and team members to determine effective solutions for engineering projects which maximised practicality and regularly delivered projects on time and to standard.
  • Ideated, researched and developed chemical engineering processes for sovereign manufacturing of energetics supporting potential production of 20 tonnes per year, including literature review, viability assessments, costing analysis, process design, and establishing commercial partnerships.
  • Aided in development of a bid response for an external multinational client’s solid rocket motor manufacturing facility, comparing federal and state legislation to determine optimal site locations.
  • Researched and developed energetic compositions and fuzing options for in-house testing of warheads to deliver design options demonstrating a 10% increase in explosive power and 40% increase in insensitivity to the baseline.

Graduate Climate Engineer

Deloitte Australia
03.2023 - 07.2023
  • Worked in the product lifecycle management team, using engineering systems to oversee the introduction, growth, maturity and retirement of projects to minimise cost and maximise efficiency.
  • Member of Deloitte Foundation Champion program, working closely with local charities to increase community engagement and deliver value to local organisations.
  • Use statistical tools to review data trends, and conduct measurement and verification analysis and reporting, identifying problem areas in client operations.
  • Identify and develop client projects using engineering principles.
  • Facilitate solutions development around challenges with clients, evaluators, and other stakeholders.

Vacation Metallurgy Student - Cadia

Newcrest Mining Limited
11.2021 - 02.2022
  • Shadowed operational staff on the surface site to aid in practical knowledge of process units, plant upkeep and daily operations.
  • Completed a wide variety of safety inductions under the Newsafe program, learning about proper mine site conduct, safety habits and respectful work culture.
  • Involved in multiple on-site projects including sample analysis using metallurgical lab equipment, belt cuts with operators and technical staff, and upkeep of Safety Data Sheets and Safe Operating Procedures across site.
  • Performed float tests using Potassium Amyl Xanthate to assess the effect on gold and copper recovery and the associated concentrate grade, using test float cells and met lab testing equipment. Identified ideal flowrate to theoretically increase recovery by 15%.

Project Engineer

Department of Energy and Mining
01.2021 - 02.2021
  • Designed and implemented an automated databasing system to track trends of gas supply into SA using Microsoft Excel.
  • Performed audits of gas appliances, checking compliance with state legislation, and reporting results to senior officers.
  • Created a gas incident register for data collection and effective data analysis through Power BI.
  • Designed reporting database that automated the completion of electrical audits by querying an online database using Excel and Word.
  • Attended team meetings, reporting the progress and future of projects to stakeholders, as well as discussing potential improvements.
  • Became familiarised with use of industry standards as well as compliance and enforcement of said standards.
