I am originally from the England, but I am currently residing in Australia on a 'Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417)'. At this present moment, I am located in Childers (QLD), but I plan on relocating with my boyfriend to any other location in Australia for the right job.
I would consider myself a hardworking, punctual individual who takes pride in always being on time and giving any job role my best shot. Previous employers have credited me on my positive 'can do' attitude within the workplace, which is a trait I take with me anywhere I go.
Throughout the years I have obtained a variety of skills from my previous job roles. Some of these skills include; working outdoors in Australia's hot and cold weather conditions on a well-known farm, years of childcare and early childhood education experience (including children with special educational needs) and over eight years of customer service experience in huge retailers in England and within call-centres in Melbourne.
One of my many interests is maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle and I enjoy spending my free time at the gym, going for scenic walks or cooking up a new recipe to try.
Lastly, an attribute I hold with pride is my willingness to try new things. I am always open to learning a new skill, working in a field which I have little to no experience on and pushing my self out of my comfort zone. A recent example of this being my huge relocation from my small town in England to Australia.
For almost two years, I worked as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school. My position originally started as a reception class (ages 4-5) TA, but I then digressed onto becoming a 1:1 for children with additional needs, most commonly children with Autism.
Some of my duties in this role included:
This experience was a huge eye-opener as it enhanced my love for teaching and providing support for children and their families.
I was primarily employed to be a 1:1 for a non-verbal child with ASD, but once the child had finished their time at the summer camp, I worked with the ‘Early Explorers (EE)' group of children who ranged from 4-6 years old.
For the entire month of July 2022, I volunteered aboard in Portugal with IVHQ working on the ‘Food Rescue' program.
During my time away volunteering, I gained experience in food outreach while assisting a sustainable community initiative that aims to eliminate food waste and end hunger by recovering food from local restaurants and supermarkets and giving it to families, the elderly, and homeless people in need. I also traveled alone which benefited me as an individual as I had only myself to rely on.
My main duties at Sainsbury's were:
I worked at Sainsbury's during the COVID-19 pandemic. This taught me alot of valuable skills such as working under extreme pressure, prioritizing skills, dealing with huge customer demand, and working at a fast pace.
Some of my duties at Topshop involved:
I have an ongoing Enhanced DBS check. This is the UK equivalent of an Australian 'Working With Children Check'.
Driving License: Yes (Full UK & International)
Police Check: Yes (30/01/2024)
