Summary

I am writing to express my interest in the position as a Registered Nurse, in the Tweed Valley Hospital within the Emergency Department.

I currently work as a clinical nurse in Care in the Right Setting. My scope in this role is team leading, community visits, on boarding potential patients and consulting with senior medical officers and other health professionals.

I also work in the Emergency Department on a casual basis. I am resus/trauma and triage competent. I have experience working in a rural hospital with the medical officer offsite.

I am applying for this position as I believe, I have the capabilities, knowledge, and experience to be the ideal applicant.

Throughout my nursing career; I have consistently applied the nursing and midwifery board of Australia standards. I believe my knowledge and my continued willingness to learn the practices of nursing is a quality that is suited to this position. When caring for patients I apply critical thinking and analyse patients to ensure the best health outcome. I provide safe and appropriate care, conducting comprehensive assessments and evaluate outcomes to ensure I have upheld the competency domains of being a registered nurse.

I am constantly striving to deliver evidence-based care and develop meaningful relationships with patients and their family members. I have experience providing care to paediatrics, adults and mental health clients.

Communication is a fundamental part of nursing practices; I demonstrate the ability to communicate relevant and accurate information to the appropriate health professionals, patients and family members. I understand the importance of documenting accurately and ensuring patient confidentiality.

I am very meticulous with handovers or relaying information regarding patient care to ensure patient safety and the best health care outcome.

I continue to demonstrate personal and professional accountability by adhering to the codes of conduct by maintaining the necessary competency within the nursing scope.

I have a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing through Central Queensland University. I embrace every opportunity to advance my knowledge throughout my nursing career and will continue to expand my knowledge. I built an excellent rapport with team members in my current roles but feel I would like an opportunity to branch out to advance my nursing skills.
